It would seem the other quad has had a bit of late night fun screwing with our PL. They even stuffed newspaper behind the makeshift barricade.

It seems that our CS teachers don’t like being told their tests were hard and we should be retested, because they deleted the post off the newsgroup:

I don’t remember the post being rude to any of the teachers, the poster simply outlined what he felt was wrong with the test- the first GUI coding question (which you only got warned about if you went to some optional review session on Sunday), the polymorphism question was so long that few people finished the test, the dynamic binding question was incredibly difficult, and the fact that the professors didn’t go over a bunch of the material in class or cover in the homework. This censorship is totally unreasonable, so what are they going to do next? Delete any legitimate critique of their homework? What about when someone has a question about some part of the HW- that implies that it’s hard right?
And it couldn’t have happpened any sooner. I’m starting to think, or more accurately hope, that CS will get better after 1322. If not, The M Train is looking good. I’m also thing about INTA (International Affairs). But it’s just too early to do much at this point. Whatever, it’s Friday- time to relax.
CS1322 has me really considering the M Train. My teacher just plain sucks. Breakout is a completely useless two hour exercise spitting out the same thing the book does about Java’s sucky GUI (Cross platform my ass btw). The homework doesn’t really have any cool problems either, which is probably why everyone works as “collaboratively” as they do. Last semester, I’d actually start on CS homework early that had interesting problems, this semester it’s all done fairly late. This is where the difference between professors and instructors becomes so apparent. If my CS teacher (in this case, a professor) actually was even the least bit interested in what he was teaching, it probably wouldn’t suck as much as it does. But he’s not, which is why we spent an entire class on if and else statements, which all but 3 people (out of 250) understood. One of my roommates, who at the moment is a CS major, is sitting on the major change form. The M Train is very tempting right now.
Oh and I just realized, I’ve had a website for over two years now (April 13).
Spring is here at Georgia Tech for those who didn’t notice. And while it quite beautiful outside, my nose is another matter. My allergies hit me like a hammer yesterday, which was the first day of a Georgia spring. I got the generic Claratin at the Student Health Center, but it doesn’t do enough. I can’t go outside without getting slammed with a runny nose the moment I walk indoors. At least last year, the medicine was effective in combatting my allergies, this year it’s just plain weak. At least the weather is nice.
- I still haven’t eaten at The Varsity as I haven’t had to need to have my bowels cleaned out.
- I haven’t gotten wasted as I haven’t felt the need to hug the toilet.
- I didn’t go to any of the basketball games, but after the Jackets’ season this year, that may have been a good thing.
I’m sure there’s more, I just can’t think of more right now.
