Spring Break Comes And Goes

So Spring Break ‘05 has come and gone. I ended up a working a couple of days and doing some work for one of my mom’s doctors. It just seemed to disappear so quick, that’s what’s really depressing I suppose. That and the fact that I had to do work for school over break just made things worse. Still, it was a nice, short burst of relaxation. But the day I start back, I’ve got to work on a retarded project. I have to use book sources for essays and writing that is so old, I can get it off Wikisource and Project Gutenberg for free and it’d be the same thing that the book version that I have to go hunt around the library for would contain. I wonder how English teachers will torment their students once libraries are gone and everything is online. I’m liking flickr. It’s become a great way of archiving old photos. My dad thought we’d lost the early Jar photos, when in fact they’d been sitting in my “Desktop Junk” folder that has survived many generations of computer upgrades. I also stumbled upon photos from middle school, but I look way too dorky to ever put them online.

It’s Connect With Tech

Which means better food in Brittain :)

HDTV @ Tech

Hurray for HDTV over cable:

GTCN, OIT and ResNet are currently broadcasting a QAM encoded HDTV signal of local CBS affiliate WGCL on cable channel 68. You may find the signal on channel 68-1, 9-1, 68 or 9 depending on your HDTV tuner. We hope, during March Madness, that this channel will be useful to our residents watching the NCAA basketball games in the residence halls.

I just hope they continue with all the locals and perhaps even do HBO. HBO does HD (if you pay for the HBO on Dish or DirecTV, the HD feed is free). Now that’d be nice, movies in higher quality than DVD :) .

Why 8PM Naps Are Bad

So I’m studying for calc and decide to take a little hour long nap. Alarm goes off, back to work. I lay down to get to bed at about 12:30 and can’t fall asleep. It’s now 2:40 AM. Note to self: Don’t take quick naps at night.
