So we got the TV exchanged today and the sound port that was busted on the old now works on the new one. The progressive scan also produced the same crappy image until I used the old, cheap, incredibly crappy looking component cables from the den and moving them away from the cables on the floor. Oh yah! DVDs, XBox, and Over The Air HDTV look great on the new TV. DirecTV (and thus all it’s old style brethren such as cable, Dish, etc) looked bad because it’s broadcast in standard definition. I’ll live with it, since I’ll get more use out of the stuff that outputs in better quality. I’m going to look into HD DirecTV as summer approaches, but unless the equipment gets cheaper I’ll be enjoying the same thing I am now. I’ve got work today, so I need to sleep….
