20 Years

I’m studying for my math final and I the question of where I’ll be in 10, 15, and 20 years keeps popping into my mind. I wonder what job I’ll have. Sure, I’d love to think I’ll be a millionaire who doesn’t have to work, but I think it would get boring. What would I do all day, count my money :| ? I’d have to be doing something that I think would have an impact on something. In reality, I should expect a white collar job with good pay (if they’re not all shipped overseas). What will I come home to? I hope I’ll have met the right girl and we’d have kids. Kids, now that’s a sticking point I’d probably have with my wife. I don’t want kids, especially after living with Morgan, that’s a pain I don’t plan having to put up with (and deal with!). I guess I really should just stop thinking about it, since I don’t really have a clue where I’ll be.

In nerdier news, I’ve moved to RSS (Real Simple Stupid) feeds for getting news off the web, reading blogs/LJs, etc. PulpFiction was released over the weekend. I downloaded it, played with it for about an hour, and realized how much time I save by not clicking through all the link and tabs I have for Safari. I now consume Slashdot, MacNN, Mac OS X Hints, a variety of blogs, and everyone’s LiveJournals, and a few other news sites via RSS or Atom. I save so much time by not clicking through the 20 livejournals I read. I outta add some of Apple’s for the music store. The cost vs time savings was worth it for me. I tried NetNewsWire in the past, but it was too bloated and complicated (plus expensive), PF’s Mail-like interface works for me.

In my last expenditure, I purchased the personal license for MovableType. I’ve got 30 days to make sure I made the right decision. I’ve used MovableType since I’ve had a domain and I’ve never donated/paid a cent for it. I’ve always thought about donating, but never got around to it (And PayPal still scares me after people got their accounts cleaned out- by PayPal- with no way to get it back). It’s also about $20 more than I’d like too, but they changed the limits and the fact I’ve never paid a cent for something that I use alot pushed me to do it. And with that, I am ending my large expenditures in preparation for the poor college student lifestyle I have to look forward to :) . There is no new software that’s been announced that I’ll be buying and I don’t plan on buying any more gizmos (The Tivo was totally worth it tho ;) ).
