One Year Ago

One year ago today, this blog was parsed into creation. It’s come a long ways from the “Clean” (utilitarian looking) stylesheet, Berkley DB flat file database (death at any moment possible :( ), and several posters to my own stylesheet, MySQL database, and a single voice. Weird indeed. Oh yeah, no more iMac run off our DSL line to shared hosting lol. Happy one year anniversary to… myself :)

Tart Made Up His Mind!

It’s about time too :D . Tech! :)

Friday Night Is Already Planned

Kill Bill Volume II this Friday. Make arrangements all, we’ve gotta see it! Check out the trailer, looks great :)

My Quiet Spring Break

My Spring Break has been quiet thus far. Connect with Tech was mostly great. The first day was a bit boring and repetitive, but the evening was great. I saw Nate and Abby there, but only a few times (they divided everyone up based on majors). My host Mike was fun, he was an International Affairs major graduating in a few weeks. We stayed at a ministry house on the campus (with couches :)). We spent a few hours at the athletic center, which was amazing. The place is huge of course, with two pools, multiple basketball courts, a track, and so on. We had breakfast at this retro place on campus, we got there early and didn’t wait in the long line that formed a few minutes after we got there. They made these two huge pieces of french toast that filled me up before I finished the first piece. Campus food was great. We didn’t go to the standard choice of classes, we went to an International Affairs course. The subject that day was the Third Republic (France before World War I). The course was taught just like Ms. Lyons’ World Geography and World History courses. It was different thought, very interesting. I can’t wait to Get Out Of This Place™ and go to Tech. Lastly for Tech, their internet connectivity is second only to the Pentagon :D. Tart, Joe…. Tech is calling. You know where you need to go ;).

Tart came over yesterday and helped me mod the Tivo. Took us all afternoon to mod it, but I now have a ~180 hour unit (~50 hours best quality, which is what I record at). When Joe gets back, I may mod it with some software. I also got a Tivo plug today in my inbox, Home Media Option for $60 (normally $100). I planned to get it at some point anyway, this way I save $40. I bought it naturally. It’s most useful function is the ability to schedule stuff online. This fall I’ll be able to burn stuff to DVDs. It does photo and music (No AAC though) playing. It works quite well. I like it so far (there’s a trial period of course). When I was looking at all the hacks I can apply software-wise, I found the greatest quote, “There are two types of people in this world. Those with Tivo and those who want Tivo.” :D

Spring Break

It’s Spring Break at last! Wahoo :) I worked today and I’ve Connect With Tech after I wake up today, the next step in my parents’ over-something-or-another. I guess it’ll be a good experience. I had to do some scheduling with my Tivo, I’m recording 5 Taken episodes (2 hours each, 2 hours times 5 episodes equals 10 hours) and it’s gonna fill up the Tivo coupled with a Dilbert and Sliders episode. Sopranos will get recored in the den unfortunately. Luckily, my Tivo upgrade stuff will be here soon and that problem will fade. Whoever is going on vacation, enjoy!
