Victory Is Mine!

I have beaten out the vile line-height handling of Firebird’s CSS that I discovered tonite, as it couldn’t render my welcome page worth crap. Even IE5/Mac could do it, and that thing is dog old. I beat it though, and improved the spacing a bit to be more user friendly. Adam went through another 50 or 60 revisions to his website today. Joe has been poking around with CSS. Maybe I’ll do something interesting tomorrow. WAIT! tomorrow is today! Time to sleep!

Just To Be Clear

If you use Internet Explorer and haven’t heard about or used Firebird (or a Gecko derived product) go look at why you should use it. Download it, try it, if you like it, keep using it. If you’re on a Mac, like me, and use Mac OS X, Internet Explorer development is DEAD and Apple maintains a most excellent browser called Safari. Download and use it, you won’t have to look back. And to make things VERY clear, I hate Internet Explorer. I loathe it. I think it should be taken out back and nuked. Very soon, this website (with the exception of the homepage) will NOT look right at all (you won’t see anything but images) since Internet Explorer doesn’t support PNG image transparency. I will NOT hack my code to make sure it works with a crummy little browser. If it works with IE, you’re lucky, if not, don’t complain because I won’t care.

Epiphany

A comprehension or perception of reality by means of a sudden intuitive realization

My dad had the epiphany that I know his Amazon password and can track his packages. He realized it when my brother was bragging about how my dad didn’t have a paper trail this year. I wanna add moto/photoblogging to the blog, but Cingular’s data plans aren’t very cool and Photo Messaging requires a Cingular dataplan (either pay per use *cringe* or a package- $7 for 1MB *ghey*). I may consider trying photo messaging with pay per use (simply not using the data). If I get any kind of charges for data use, off goes photo messaging. Photo messages can be sent to email addresses, there is a script for MT that will convert the photos to into a post (it also converts text to entry text). Ughhh, I hate the need for a data plan, otherwise, I’d spring for the $2.99 now. I wonder if I can have it billed separately to my debit card (which can act as a credit card), that way if it does cost like $5 or something I don’t have to worry about getting yelled at.

LONG DAY

Government final, Mike came to my house for a bit. Jacob got a ride over and left after a bit. Slept for a few hours. And here I am, doing some quick shopping (figuring out what gift certificates to get people). It’s a pity I can’t get Adam an iTunes Music Store certificate, since his computer is ghetto and his MP3 player only does MP3 and *laughs* WiMP Audio. Crappy quality and restrictive DRM all in one craptastic package.

What Now?

After several false starts, this day finally got off the ground (after school that is). Mike, of course, didn’t tell Joe that we were picking him up at 2 and he couldn’t leave because his bro was sick. Then Mike and I were going to go over to his house, but Mike’s mom wouldn’t let him go there since Joe’s brother may have the flu. At 3:30, I got Joe (already had Mike who went back to my house until 3:20) and went to my house. Adam got his mommy to bring him over (and let him walk up my driveway) since his dad and sister needed his car. Dealing with our websites and miscellaneous shenanigans eventually lead to a game of Ghettopolly (which my mom got a kick out of). I won round two (losing round one at Joe’s over the weekend), however Mike wishes to reclaim the throne, he shall not however. Round 3 tomorrow Capo, you gonna lose!

I also got Plugin Manager for MovableType. It works pretty decent. It’s a 0.1.7 product and it shows in many areas. But it allowed me to save several hours in installing some plugins I’ve wanted to install for awhile now. Tart’s Site is making some nice progress. Capo’s Site is getting ready for real work to be done. And Zollo’s Sites are going to be undergoing a table code nightmare to CSS overhaul over the break. Maybe the text will actually fit now. I also installed a forum, so that I can do voting etc now. It was a joke to install, easiest thing I’ve ever installed on a webserver I think. What a great day.

Almost Over With

3 Finals Down, 3 Finals To Go. Lord of the Rings was awesome, of course. But it ended like 10 times. You saw a black screen for 10 secs like 7 times, making you think they were going to roll credits. They had a “The End” to tell you it was REALLY over with lol. I added weather to the sidebar, but its info is only as good as when I rebuild (either when I post or make a change and it rebuilds). Cool huh?

Christmas Is Coming

I got my brother his present, a domain SmarterThanCake.com and I host him off one of the 15 domains I get. It’ll probably turn into his own little propaganda page. I also got the first post.

Apparently I Need To Update

According to Adam, I need to update. So here we are, an update! I’ll update more later after I finish my lit essay (and studying the zodiacs).

Truly Eeeevil

Stewy from Family Guy is so hilariously evil, diabolical, plotting, and sinister that I love him.

Almost Completely Back Up

All that is left now is to get my music library parser working and I have everything that I had before working again. I installed Gallery, but I’m having some funky problems with sessions (not cached stuff, it involves already sent headers). I installed AWStats, since Analog sucks. Oh yeah, a major plus out of this… WebDAV publishing of my iCal = Amazing. Now where’s my Family Guy DVDs and Shadow Puppets! The shipping may be free, but their window for delivery is craptastic.
